Pears Soap is an iconic brand that has been successful in Britain for nearly 200 years. Their traditional ‘Amber bar’ has been a household favourite for generations. More recently, their liquid Hand Wash and Shower Gel have been launched with great success to complement the range.

Challenge
Owners HUL (Hindustan Unilever Ltd) were looking for a company who could offer them a complete brand management solution. They needed someone with the capabilities and experience to support and develop the brand throughout the UK.

Solution
Cert Octavian brought the Pears brand in-house in 2003. They undertook and advised on all aspects of the brand’s marketing; from Sales and Marketing to distribution and creative packaging, and applied their extensive knowledge and experience to each area. Thanks to their established infrastructure, they had the necessary IT, administration and logistics capabilities in place to support every stage of the brand's development.

As a respected figure within the industry, Cert Octavian was able to use its considerable influence to promote the new and improved Pears brand to all the major decision-makers in key trading channels, and maximise new and existing sales opportunities. And the results really do speak for themselves.

Results
Since 2003, the brand has more than trebled in size, with Pears Amber Bar becoming the fastest growing single-pack soap in the UK. Effective Sales and Marketing have introduced the Pears Brand to a new generation of consumers and as a result, we can look forward to Pears being with us throughout the next century.
