Cert Octavian secures Sony DADC contract
1st December 2011
When Sony DADC's 24,000 square metre warehousing complex in Enfield - one of five logistics sites within its pan-European network - was burned down during the UK riots in early August, Cert Octavian was proud to accommodate the vast majority of its fellow distributor's supply chain activity at its Hoddesdon Service Centre.
Located only ten miles away from Sony's Enfield distribution site, Hoddesdon provided the ideal warehouse and distribution hub, managing the majority of Sony DADC's Enfield volume.
"We are delighted to have been one of two logistics partners selected to provide Sony DADC with an interim supply chain solution," said Cert Octavian Managing Director, Vincent O'Brien.
"Though its initial requirement was urgent, Sony nonetheless also required a robust and premium logistics partner for the longer term - one that respects valuable and often fragile goods and handles them with the utmost of care - enabling it to continue to deliver a seamless service to its customers.
"I believe the congruence between our two companies and a shared ethos for excellence will stand us in good stead for times ahead as we support Sony in provision of a temporary infrastructure solution for its UK business," he added. "Our storage environment is second to none and Sony can be confident in the quality of our support services, the integrity of Cert Octavian staff, and on-site security of the very highest standards," he added.
"The level of support we have received from our customers, Sony affiliate companies, local distribution centres and other companies from within the industry has been remarkable. Without it, such a fast reaction to market demands would not have been achieved," said Natasha Tyrrel, Managing Director UK distribution at Sony DADC.
"The flexibility and professionalism of Cert Octavian's support services has been invaluable," she added. "We have found the team friendly, highly committed and happy to ensure the continuity in service excellence that our customer base demands. Such an environment makes it a great place for us to operate from".
