Cert Octavian Wins New Contract With Keystone Distribution

6th August 2008

Premium Product Logistics company Cert Octavian has won a contract with Keystone Distribution.  Working on behalf of fast food retailer Mcdonald's, Keystone Distribution has handed responsibility to Cert Octavian for the warehousing of giveaways for Mcdonald's summer promotion, which will run from mid-August.

Keystone is the largest distribution company in the US and Mcdonald's is its sole customer in the UK.  From early July until September, Cert Octavian's Middleton site in Manchester will handle 2,200 pallets containing over 8.5 million promotional glasses, which makes up almost 50% of the prize stock for the entire UK promotion.

Cert Octavian has worked with Keystone Distribution (formally Golden West Foods) since 1999, when it was approached to store 6,000 pallets of toys as part of a happy meal promotion for Mcdonald's.  Most recently, Cert Octavian was responsible for warehousing stock for Mcdonald's Monopoly promotion.  This project required a high level of security due to the prize values on offer, which included a house, a car and cash.

John Hamilton, operations director, said: "Cert Octavian's Middleton site is ideally placed to service Keystone's Regional RDC, which is based in Heywood, Manchester.  Our bonded warehousing facility and high security levels has also proved to be a successful combination for fulfilling the contract.  Working on behalf of a global organisation like Mcdonald's, we have a responsibility to deliver its brand and we do this through the care we take when handling its promotional products."

Keith Webb, promotions co-ordinator at Keystone Distribution, added: "we have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Cert Octavian for almost a decade, thanks to the team's commitment to caring for our customers' brands and providing us with a flexible warehousing solution that delivers results."
