Israeli winery Rimon chooses Cert Octavian for logistics
2nd November 2009
Family owned Israeli wine producers Rimon Winery have agreed an in bond storage and distribution contract with premium product logistics provider Cert Octavian for their new range of pomegranate wines recently launched in the UK. Cert Octavian will handle Rimon’s dry red, port and dessert wines as the producer begins its ambitious expansion plans into the UK market.
The wines will be transported from Rimon’s own winery, 3000 feet above sea level, in the basalt rich soil of the Hills of Galilee, Israel, for storage at Cert Octavian’s Hoddesdon Service Centre in the UK prior to local and national distribution.
Anthony Finlayson Green, Managing Director of Cert Octavian said,
“We were able to demonstrate to Rimon Winery the significant benefits of our one stop logistics operation. We will manage their whole UK requirement, meeting their primary need to deliver into Central London. This will provide Rimon with an unequalled, all embracing package and was therefore attractive to a customer with real potential to increase its supply in the UK.”
Pomegranate Wine is a new product for the UK fruit wine market but has a centuries old tradition in the Holy Land. The Nachmias family have cultivated their own variety of pomegranate from which their gold medal winning wines are produced and which are extremely rich in the antioxidant vitamins A, B and C retained during fermentation. The pomegranate wines possess up to three times more antioxidants than red wine or green tea. Following the UK launch Rimon’s dessert wine is being stocked by Waitrose.
Commenting on their decision to choose Cert Octavian, Rimon Winery’s Michael Dalal, said
“Only Cert Octavian combined the all round capability to handle our business effectively with the passion, attention to detail and professionalism we have in everything we do.”
