Cert Octavian's polish ‘nails' Models Own cosmetics contract

22nd November 2011

Since July this year, Cert Octavian has been logistics partner of choice for Models Own, the dynamic fashion and trend colour accessory brand, with a range of cosmetics retailed online and available in boots, river island and republic stores across the uk and ireland.

Models Own - previously a customer of FDD International in Ascot - chose to award the warehouse and distribution contract for its retail fulfilment to Cert Octavian, based on the quality of its service delivery, encompassing everything from best practice to security.

"What clinched it for us really was Cert Octavian's systems and security. For due diligence they have been spot on and we have had no issues whatsoever," says Models Own Director, Steven Rodol.

Around 200 pallets are stored at Cert Octavian's Rotherham service centre, consisting mainly of nail varnishes and eye liners, which are distributed to retail outlets nationwide.

"Much of the work we do for Models Own is what we term ‘re-work'," says Dean Burditt, Cert Octavian General Manager, North. "Stock may come in 24, 36 or 48 pack batches and these are repacked into customised sizes to suit the specific needs of the customer who may find it easier to receive stock in smaller, more manageable units, saving them on stock-holding space."

"Rotherham specialises in reconfiguring packaging and repacking work, to suit the end customer's requirements," he adds. "We're currently working on a couple of packaging projects for Models Own, putting three variants into a new selling unit."

Even though Models Own has only been with Cert Octavian for a matter of months, Rodol is highly impressed with its performance to date - so much so that he intends to move all fulfilment, including online orders currently managed from head office, over to Cert Octavian.

"No matter what challenges we have thrown at them, they have always come back to us with an answer. They've never said ‘no' and the team at Rotherham turns everything around for us on time and within budget. I can't fault their professionalism," he says.
